At Farmhouse Leone we are fond of one thing, which is, using ingredients and products that come only from our fields, our farm or guaranteed by local reliable producers.
"km zero"(*) is a philosophy and an attitude: we know the territory, how to develop it and respect it through its products, and at the same time we know how to guarantee the pleasures of an unadulterated healthy table, made of the freshest favourable foods, to our hosts, from the early awakening breakfast to the unforgettable supper.
Our "km zero" breakfast will allow you to choose from a variety of:
milk, bread, quince marmalade, thymus honey, home-made fruit tart, fresh fruits and season nuts (grapes, pears, prickly pear, apricots, plums, pomegranate); and eggs, cheeses and home-made cold meat for who prefers the traditional English breakfast. (home made)
For lunch and supper, try our lavishing menus "km zero", that naturally change in various periods of the year:
- typical "scàcce Iblee" (typical Sicilian closed pizza) with various fillings according to the season
- hot ricotta cheese, one of our specialties
- ricotta cheese ravioli and home-made pasta
- rabbit “alla stimpirata”
- wild boar, veal, and black pig of Nebrodi meat, our Sicilian sausages, all grilled or roasted
- ancient recipes in which natural plants like “bieta” and wild asparagus are used
- our smoked cheeses, with chives, olives, rocket, seasoned pepper cheese our cold cuts: capocollo, bacon, dried sausage and many other traditional delicacies
- our olives, black and greens, “scacciate” and dressed with various ingredients
- our aubergines and courgettes in oil
- our famous “cannoli" (Sicilian pastry dessert)
All this served with home-made bread and our best wines. Our ample premises do not fear the numerous crowds: we can accommodate up to 100 people!
